This company is a structural unit of the Shimadzu Corporation in Europe. It was founded in 1968 in Dusseldorf, but today the main office is located in the city of Duisburg (Germany). Shimadzu Europe GmbH has a number of representative offices in 12 European countries. Their activities cover the territory of 24 countries. In addition, there is a network of distribution companies that work on the basis of relevant agreements with the company Shimadzu Europe GmbH. There are 10 such companies in total. Their activities are spread over 13 European countries, as well as 7 countries of the former Soviet Union, located in Transcaucasia and Central Asia. The most important structural unit of Shimazu Europe GmbH is the international Center for Applied Internships. In order to ensure the possibility of detailed familiarization with devices, development of analytical methods, research of the composition of various samples and analysis of samples for the content of specific components, several laboratories equipped with certain types of devices have been created. After the reconstruction carried out in 2013, the Center occupies an area of 1,500 square meters. meters and provides access to all types of Shimadzu devices supplied to Europe.

The experience of visiting the Applied Training Center by users from different countries to solve various tasks with the help of dozens of types of Shimadzu analytical equipment gave grounds to qualify it as “Shimadzu World”. It was this name that was used when the European Innovation Center was established in March 2017, which, in addition to it, included the laboratories of eight leading European universities equipped with the corporation’s devices.

The innovation center is a unique place that combines scientific and technological know-how, created with the aim of more fully utilizing the experience of the Shimadzu company for the comprehensive provision of user needs.
The academic part of the Shimadzu European Innovation Center consists of reputable scientists from major European universities known for their excellence in research. For many years, they have cooperated with the Shimazu company in various projects. Areas of scientific research include clinical diagnostics, imaging technologies, food products and composites with an emphasis on new diagnostic tools and methods. Their work contributes to the further expansion of analytical and therapeutic-diagnostic research. Special attention is paid to the health of patients, as well as the protection of consumer rights and the environment.
Chromatography, mass spectrometry and mechanical studies are the main methods used in the Center.
