EDX-7000 and EDX-8000/8100 spectrometers with detectable ranges of elements from Na to U and from C to U, respectively, due to the use of silicon drift detectors (SDD) in their design, have high sensitivity and are successfully used in various fields of science and production that require precision and express measurements without sample destruction.
EDX-7000/8000/8100
Energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometers

Features
- The high sensitivity of the instrument is achieved by using a high-performance SDD detector in combination with optimized X-ray optics and primary filters.
- Due to the high speed of the SDD detector, the performance has increased by a factor of 10.
- The high resolution of the EDX-7000/8000/8100 spectrometers compared to previous models reduces peak overlap, which accordingly increases the reliability of the analysis results.
- Since a thermoelectric system is used to cool the SDD detector, liquid nitrogen is not required.
- The EDX-8000 spectrometer is equipped with an SDD detector with an ultra-thin window, which opens up the possibility of determining elements starting from carbon.
- These spectrometers can analyze all types of samples from micro- to macro-objects in the liquid and solid state.
- The presence of the MicroX-Cell observation chamber and a set of collimators (1, 3, 5 and 10 mm, optionally 0.3 mm) makes it possible to select the appropriate diameter of the sample irradiation depending on its size and shape.
- Built-in primary filters (5 pcs. with automatic replacement) improve the sensitivity of measurements by reducing the level of continuous and characteristic radiation of the X-ray tube.
- The sensitivity of the determination of light elements can be increased by removing air from the sample chamber (vacuum system, option) or purging with helium (helium purging unit, option).
- The spectrometers take up less space compared to previous versions, but at the same time have a large sample chamber (sample dimensions up to 300 mm x 275 mm x 10 mm).
- The functions of easy start-up of the device and automatic training of the X-ray tube increase the ease of use.
- Continuous measurements are supported by installing a 12-position autosampler (optional).

Areas of application
- Electronics (determination of toxic elements according to the RoHS directive, halogen screening, analysis of thin-film semiconductors, disks, liquid crystals, solar cells).
