UV-3600 Plus/UV-3600i Plus

Highly sensitive spectrophotometers for operation in the UV, visible and near-IR ranges

The UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometers UV-3600i Plus and UV-3600 Plus are designed to operate in the UV, visible and near-IR spectral ranges and are characterized by high sensitivity, high resolution and ultra-low stray light. The ability to operate in a wide spectral range up to 3300 nm allows you to determine the optical properties of various types of samples, including solids, powders, plates, films and liquids. Applications include band gap analysis, evaluation of coating characteristics and optical components.

UV-3600i Plus spectrophotometers are controlled by LabSolutions UV-Vis software.                                                            UV-3600 Plus spectrophotometers are controlled by UVProbe software.

Features

  • High resolution, extremely low stray light, wide spectral range. The high-performance optics of the instrument, based on two consecutive monochromators, allow to achieve ultra-low stray light (max. 0.00005% at 340 nm) with high resolution (maximum resolution: 0.1 nm). The wide spectral range from 185 to 3300 nm allows to work not only in the UV and visible ranges of the spectrum, but also in the near-IR range, and as a result, opens up possibilities for solving a wide range of tasks.
  • Large selection of additional accessories. The multifunctional cuvette compartment with three detectors and an integrating sphere allow for highly sensitive measurements of solid samples. The ASR series absolute specular reflectance attachments are designed to obtain highly accurate reflectance measurement results. In addition to all of the above, a variety of microcuvette holders and temperature-controlled holders are available, allowing the spectrophotometer to be used in a variety of applications.
  • Measuring the transmittance of objectives and lenses. Devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras and surveillance cameras are equipped with various lenses. The transmittance of the lens is one of the factors that determines the characteristics of the lens. However, since the lens itself focuses the light, it is a very difficult case for making measurements and obtaining reliable results. The presence of a focal plane in the lens means that the light passing through the spectrophotometer during baseline measurement may differ from the light passing through the lens during measurement due to refraction. In such cases, for more accurate measurements, it is recommended to work with an integrating sphere, which allows you to collect all the light passing through the lens. In addition, using an integrating sphere operating in transmission mode, complete with the BIS-603 device, helps reduce measurement errors. Additionally, the V-shaped platform included as standard in the MPC-603 multi-function cell compartment allows for measurement of the transmittance of lenses of various lengths and sizes. As a result, the MPC-603 and BIS-603 are the ideal combination for lens and objective analysis.

Optional accessories for special measurements

  • Multifunctional cuvette compartment for working with large samples MPC-603. The multi-purpose cell compartment allows you to measure samples of various shapes and obtain both reflection and transmission spectra. To ensure accurate measurements of solid samples, an integrating sphere is built into this cell compartment.
  • BIS-603 platform for MPC-603. This device is used to install absolute specular reflection attachments in the MPC-603 multi-purpose cell compartment.
  • Integrating Sphere ISR-603. The ISR-603 integrating sphere with a diameter of 60 mm is used to measure diffuse and specular reflection spectra. It can also measure transmission spectra of solid and liquid samples. It, like the spectrophotometer itself, is equipped with three detectors: PEP, InGaAs and PbS.
  • Integrating Sphere ISR-1503. The diameter of the integrating sphere is 150 mm. Equipped with three detectors: FEP, InGaAs and PbS. The inner surface of the sphere is coated with barium sulfate or made of Spectralon. It is well suited for measuring the reflection spectra of samples such as powders, paper and fabrics, as well as for measuring color. Due to its high stability, the influence of the surface state of the sample is eliminated, which is effective when analyzing solid samples with a high amount of scattered light, i.e. simply characterized by an uneven surface. In addition to reflection spectra, this attachment can also be used to measure the transmission spectra of solutions and solid samples. The location and design of the sphere ports allows you to study various types of samples, including the lower port used for measuring powder samples, which prevents samples from getting inside the sphere. Using a special sample holder allows you to place small objects and samples in the center of the sphere.
  • Software. The standard instrument package includes UVProbe or LabSolutions UV-Vis software. Shimadzu offers special software or add-ons for solving special tasks, including software for measuring color, film thickness, measuring sunlight transmission, calculating the bandgap width of semiconductors, calculating SPF factors of sunscreens and accessories, and much more.
