Shimadzu introduces a compact UV-visible spectrophotometer, the UV-1280. The UV-1280 spectrophotometer is designed for routine research and quantitative determinations. The spectrophotometer is built using a pseudo-two-beam optical scheme and has a curved holographic diffraction grating as the monochromator. The 5 nm spectral bandwidth provides high light output with good resolution, which in turn allows for reliable and accurate determination of the concentrations of various components.

Features
The UV-1280 spectrophotometer is equipped with a built-in controller that allows measurements to be made using a built-in dust- and moisture-proof keyboard. The results are displayed on a high-contrast liquid crystal display, the brightness of which can be adjusted, or printed on an optional printer that is connected directly to the instrument.

A variety of programmed modes and methods allow you to easily perform various types of measurements. The main modes are photometric, spectral, kinetic. Among the methods, it is necessary to note a separately issued method of quantitative determinations using calibration graphs, multicomponent analysis and various biomethods for the determination of nucleic acids and proteins.
All created settings of user methods and templates, as well as measurement results, can be saved in the built-in memory, from where they can be called up at any time. Additionally, external USB drives can be used to save various data.
Optionally, the instrument can be controlled and operated using a personal computer and UVProbe software. To solve various research spectrophotometric tasks, Shimadzu Corporation offers a wide range of accessories and related products.
