SALD-7500nano

Laser diffraction particle size analyzer

An accurate and highly sensitive device designed to measure particle size distribution in the range from 7 nm to 800 nm and today is an excellent solution for research in the field of nanotechnology and «life sciences».

Features

  • The device is designed to estimate particle size in a wide measurement range from 7 nm to 800 μm and is suitable for measuring samples with particle concentrations from 0.1 ppm to 20 wt. %, while it is possible to estimate the dependence of particle size distribution on concentration.
  • The frontal detector of the “Wing” type, having high resolution and sensitivity, can collect scattered light up to 60⁰, and the presence of a damped frame, which isolates all elements of the optical system from shocks and vibrations, eliminates problems associated with adjusting the optical axis.
  • Allows you to measure small bubbles (from 100 nm to 60 μm), and also allows real-time tracking of changes in bubble sizes.
  • The use of identical measurement conditions (a single light source, a single optical system and a single algorithm for calculating results) in the entire concentration range opens up the possibility of studying the aggregation properties of the sample.
  • Optionally, the use of WingSALD bio software based on SALD-7500nano allows for quantitative analysis of aggregation (in mg/ml) of biopharmaceuticals.
  • The continuous measurement function (interval 1 second) provides real-time monitoring of particle distribution.
  • The statistical processing functions and 3D process display offer great opportunities for multifaceted analysis and evaluation of information.
  • The WingSALD II software provides a function of automatic selection of the refractive index based on the LDR method (light intensity distribution reproducibility), which in the absence of reference data for any objects, including previously unstudied mixtures, greatly simplifies the analysis procedure.

Measurement cell

The SALD-MS75 flow cell is supplied complete with a sampler that ensures the circulation of samples with high specific gravity (ceramics, metal powders), preventing particles from settling at the bottom of the sampler (particles with a density of up to 7.8 g/cm3), and an ultrasonic disperser ensures the removal of air bubbles. The volume of liquid in the sampler can be set to 100, 200 or 300 ml.

The stationary cell SALD-BC75 is made of quartz glass and is equipped with a fluoroplastic funnel. The cell is used for working with samples containing aggressive liquids or organic solvents. The cell volume is 5 ml. equipped with a stirrer.

The SALD-HC75 high-concentration sample block is a glass plate holder, between which a sample with a layer thickness of several microns is placed. This allows you to measure samples with a particle concentration of up to 20%, as well as work with ultra-small sample volumes of approximately 15 μl. This block is an excellent solution for measuring samples that can be diluted. For example, many suspensions and emulsions (ointments, creams, latexes, some types of paints) delaminate or agglomerate when diluted.
